Hiring The Right Vendor!

From time to time we will post tips for brides for their weddings or tips for photographers for how to improve their business. Today is a tip we have for brides on how to hire the right vendors.

This came to me over the last few months when I was getting people calling me who were looking for a $700 wedding package but wanted my quality and everything in the package. When I politely said no I can not do that they said well the guy down the street can do video, dj and photos for $1250. I said, “well I wish you the best of luck with your wedding and I hope you are happy with your decisions. If there is anything else we can do please let me know.”

I understand times are hard, but getting better and you all need to find a way to cut costs. But cutting costs on your vendors is not the way to go. If you want quality service and a quality product then you need to find a quality vendor in your price range. SO ok, maybe that bride could not afford me, I get it and respect that. But what that bride did not know is they should shop around and find vendors who specialize in one area not do 3 things ok. You wouldn’t do to the dentist and ask him to remove a mole from your back or go to the computer store and ask the to fix your tv. Sure they could remove the mole and fix your tv but it might not be 100% correct or it might take way too long because they are not 100% sure of them selves in that area. The same thing comes in to play when you are hiring a wedding vendor. Would you want to go somewhere to book a photographer if they were only decent but were also decent in video and dj? No you want the best so go find a specialist and get quality. There are photographers, videographers and dj’s that are all specialists in their field in all different price ranges.

Yep we can do any of that but if your looking for someone who truely stands behind their work and knows it inside and out then you will hire us for weddings, portraits, seniors, families and babies. I know if I were going to hire someone to take pictures of my family I would not hire a sports photographer.

So what we are trying to say is, people please shop around. Do not go and hire someone because they are cheap and can offer you many things at an ok quality. Find someone who can offer you high quality work for your price range. That is just what we do at Photos by Nick, provide high quality work.
