Hello clients, friends, family and followers. These past 2 months have been a crazy filled 2 months with weddings, portraits and most importantly my family. I have gotten a few emails in regards to the status of client’s photos and I have replied but wanted to update everyone else on what has been going on. Typically I do not get behind on work and the hard headed person I am, I would never admit it. But this one time I am behind by 3 weeks and the reason is I have to be there for my family during an extremely difficult time. Thank you for your understanding and patience while I get caught up. With my changing schedule and with the wedding season beginning to slow down I will have more time to get caught up. All June and July session will be completed within the next few weeks and will be posted online for your viewing.

As you know, I am an active member of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep and if you know anything about the organization you know it is not the easiest thing to photograph. Let me tell you that it is not any easier when you have to photograph your own family member for NILMDTS.

My nephew/godson is 6 months young and has gone through 18 brain surgeries since birth and recently has taken a turn that we all did not want to happen. He is now in Hospice care. I was called upon to go and photograph my brother in law and sister in law this past weekend with their son and his twin brother and big sister. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do as every click of the shutter was a moment that will live with me forever. As sad as this time is, I enjoyed our session because I felt as if my nephew and I bonded and really connected.

I am a strong believer of things happen for a reason and that everyone is here to teach someone a lesson. What I have learned from my situation is to appreciate the little details in  life and to take the time to enjoy every day. A good day or a bad day, it does not matter the kind of day. What matters is how you react to the day and how you make the most of it.

Owen, I will miss you and love you always! Every picture I take, every moment I capture and every person I capture smiling will be inspired from you. Thank you little buddy, you will always be with me…

Today was my first day off from all work in a few weeks, so I spent it with my son and my wife. We had a lot of fun relaxing, shopping and just enjoying family time together. Every now and then you need to take a break from life and enjoy the people that make it all worth while to work so hard. In the midst of our family fun day, we took some time to capture our sons 5 month photos. He is growing so fast and really beginning to form a unique personality.

This first photo is one my wife took for my fathers day gift. Totally surprised me with this awesome photo. It looks like we have a future business partner in our hands.

It is way too easy for mommy to forget about themselves when they get so wrapped up in their little ones. I know my wife forgets to do things for herself now that she spends all of her free time with our son. You are just having too much fun and doing so many great things while they grow that you just forget to get a picture with them.

On January 10th, my son was born and just 5 days later his twin cousins were born at 28 weeks. In one week, our family was so blessed to have 3 little guys come into this world. Even with all the joy and happiness of life; we had a scare with the twins being so young. Any baby born this early is more at risk let alone twins being born at this age! This is when the journey began.

One of the twins, Owen, began to have some setbacks and complications while his brother Even started to fight his way home from the NICU. Without getting in to details, baby Owen began his journey to recovery. Owen had a few surgeries that would help him progress to where he needed to be to come home. He has had more surgeries than some people have in a lifetime, but that did not stop him from coming home. His brother came home first and then a few weeks later mom got a call to come pick up her second little guy. This was great news but very unexpected news in such short notice.

We were holding back our son’s baptism so his cousins could come enjoy the celebration all together. Now that both twins were at home and doing better, it was time to plan for another special occasion. This past weekend, we finally got to invite the “Team Ripper” crew to our home to celebrate not only our sons baptism but also the journey home for little Owen and Evan.

Owen and Even are such lucky little guys with having such a great big sister Rylee to help get them strong. Mom and dad have to be some of the strongest people I know! With every bad thing that happened, they made the most of it and made the situation turn around into an even stronger positive situation. Having to go through any situation like this is rough, let alone living 4 hours away from family. Mike and Becky stuck together and stayed strong while we could come out and help when we could. They win parents of the year award for being such great people and never letting ANYTHING hold them back.

With them demonstrating such determination, love, joy, faith, and strength; we felt they were more than qualified to be our son’s godparents! We are honored to have such wonderful people be our son’s godparents. What makes it even better; they are our family! I always said, family is what makes the world turn round!

So almost 4 months after the birth of these 3 boys, my son’s baptism was this past Sunday. We really enjoyed having them stay with us for the weekend. The entire weekend was a celebration and we even got to take a few fun family photos of “Team Ripper”.

Today is my birthday and I got the greatest gift ever! This little guy smiling at me! My son Lucas. This little guy is what inspires me to continue to grow our wedding photography business in to children photography here is pittsburgh

One of our favorite Lancaster children models came to our Pittsburgh studio to visit and get her Spring 2010 pictures done. She was a ton of fun as always!!! She told me she needed a weekend vacation from her two newborn twin brothers, but she was glad to go home and help mommy take care of them.

We can not wait to photograph the entire family in a few weeks. But for now here are a few of our favorites from Rye’s session in Pittsburgh.
